Wide Plank flooring is a fantastic option to bring a rustic and classic look to your home. Wide Planks show more character by having a larger surface area that contains more detail, woodgrain and larger knots.
When it comes to sizing and width, there are many options and varieties to choose from. A Wide Plank is classified as anything larger than 2 1/2 – 4 inches and can range anywhere from 5 inches to 20 inches wide.
Wide planks are made from solid wood boards that are often repurposed or made to look vintage by them being hand-scraped, which gives more texture and a classic distressed look. It comes in a variety of styles, finish, species of wood, and grade. If you are looking for a different level of detail, selecting a lower Grade will fit a more modern/ contemporary look by containing less/ smaller knots.
